The Canon Vixia Review

I was hoping I’d a detailed eye on the Canon Vixia HF R300- and I could easily get away with spending only $349 for my new camcorder- but I wound up purchasing the Canon Vixia HF M500 and listed here is why-

When I found that the R300 had a 32x move set alongside the 10x on the M500 and that although it didn’t have the “prosumer” CMOS sensor of the M500 it’d equipment much better than my 4 year old HF100, and it cost $200 less- my mind was composed. I went to Fry’s your day they got the R300 in and had them unbox one for me personally to test. It had been extremely small and light- possibly a third smaller than my old HF100. I was enthusiastic because my hand would get tired after about 20 minutes of constant shooting with my HF100. So- I made it on, set the time and day, and used that highly recommended 32 move. Once the frustration occur that’s. I was strong in the bowels of a windowless Fry’s therefore the illumination was not that good- however the picture at full move was actually grainy and dark. They didn’t have the M500 in however to compare it with and so I chose to wait until they did.

It was a week later once theĀ Panasonic HC-V500M best price came however many information I discovered throughout the week had already composed my head that it was going to function as the camcorder I was going to buy. I then found out that the “typical” battery life on the R300 was 20 to 25 minutes! That’s crazy- who’d visit a meeting with only 20 minutes of recording time on the camcorder? And to improve to the battery that comes standard on the M500 (which provides a time of battery life) would cost an additional $80. So between the poor move efficiency of the R300 and the absurd battery they incorporate with it and the nagging thought in the back of mind that I really want to know that the CMOS sensor in my camera may be the same one used in the $1400 G10 I ordered the M500 and the very first time I used it in a candle lit area I was so happy. It certainly does a pleasant job in low light.

Whenever you change the camera to saving function additional things- the R300 lens cover is manual- it generally does not start automatically. It had been the very first camera in quite a long time that I’ve seen that you’ve to personally part the lens cover available. I also have to acknowledge that saving my child in her school’s 2nd class audio another night I thought I did have a bit more move than 10x. And for why I was not considering the high end R-series or M-series (like the M50 or M52 )- I do not like having movie that may get “stuck” on the inner memory of the camera and I like to be able to purchase a quick display card so I could move the information off the camera rapidly. I’ve USB 3.0 on my computer and a USB 3.0 flash card reader is used by me. That will be also why I didn’t worry about the wi-fi feature- I do not play on importing straight to YouTube from the camera and it’s even faster to move the movies via USB 3.0.

Therefore although I didn’t reach change my old camcorder just forĀ GoPro HD HERO3 price I’m happy with my new Vixia HF M500 and feel it had been really worth the cash. Going to the beach today therefore be prepared to see more test video published quickly.
